The BTC (Brookline Teen
Center) 3 on 3 is a day-long
community-wide basketball tournament
to benefit the Brookline Teen
Center.
The BTC 3 on 3 will take place from 9 AM - 5 PM. Players will be
notified by May 12 of their scheduled first game time. Check in for
registered players begins at 8:00 AM with the first games starting
at 9:00AM.
The Brookline Teen Center has partnered with the Rotary
Club of Brookline to host the 1st Annual Brookline Community
Basketball Tournament – BTC 3 On 3 – to be held on
Saturday, May 19th, 2007 at Brookline High School. During
this all-day tournament, one hundred teams representing the young
as well as the young-at-heart of Brookline will come together to
help us raise community-wide awareness and support for the creation
of the Brookline Teen Center.
- All games, from the opening round to
the the championship
final, will
be played on one day – Saturday May
19th - in one of three
basketball gyms on the
campus of Brookline High
School.
- The tournament will have divisions for youth (grades 7th and
8th), high school (one
division for 9th and
10th graders, and another
division for 11th and
12th graders), and adults
(18+).
- Each of these divisions will have separate
sub-divisions for male
and female
teams.
- The BTC 3on3 is a fundraiser. For more information about
fundraising including helpful tips click here. All proceeds
will benefit the Brookline Teen Center. In lieu of an entry
fee, each team will commit to raising money for the BTC. The
minimum fundraising commitments
are:
- $40 for youth teams
- $80 for high school teams
- $200 for adult teams
- The tournament will feature multiple rounds of
competitive play, with
each team
guaranteed at least two
games.
- Winning teams may play as many as 6 games as
they try to advance to
the championship
round.
- The BTC 3on3 format will feature games of
three on three basketball
played on a single hoop. Each team will
be made up of 4 individual
members. Teams will want to use their
extra player to substitute,
as they may be playing
multiple fast-paced games
back to back.
